Matrixyl

Featured

Also known as: Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Pal-KTTKS, Matrixyl 3000

A collagen-boosting cosmetic peptide for reducing wrinkles and improving skin texture.

Overview

Matrixyl is a palmitoylated pentapeptide that stimulates collagen production in the skin. It is one of the most well-researched cosmetic peptides, shown to reduce wrinkle depth and improve skin texture. Matrixyl 3000 combines it with palmitoyl tripeptide-1 for enhanced effects.

Mechanism of Action

The KTTKS sequence is a fragment of collagen I that acts as a matrikine, signaling fibroblasts to produce more collagen and extracellular matrix proteins. The palmitoyl group enhances skin penetration.

Pharmacokinetics

Topical application. Lipophilic palmitoyl enhances penetration. Acts on dermal fibroblasts.
