KPV
Also known as: Alpha-MSH Fragment, Lys-Pro-Val
An anti-inflammatory tripeptide derived from alpha-MSH with gut healing properties.
Overview
KPV is a tripeptide representing the C-terminal sequence of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (a-MSH). It retains the anti-inflammatory properties of the parent molecule without melanogenic effects.
Mechanism of Action
Inhibits NF-kB and MAPK inflammatory pathways. Reduces pro-inflammatory cytokine production. Promotes intestinal epithelial healing and barrier function.
Pharmacokinetics
Small peptide with good tissue penetration. Can be administered orally for GI effects due to local action.
