GHRP-6
Also known as: Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-6, GHRP-6 Acetate
A growth hormone secretagogue known for strong appetite stimulation.
Overview
GHRP-6 is a synthetic hexapeptide that strongly stimulates GH release and appetite. It was one of the first GHRPs developed and remains widely used.
Mechanism of Action
Activates ghrelin receptors, triggering GH release from the pituitary. Strong appetite stimulation through hypothalamic ghrelin pathways. Also has cytoprotective effects.
Pharmacokinetics
Rapid onset with peak GH at 15-30 minutes. Half-life approximately 20 minutes. Strong hunger response within minutes.
Dosing Protocols
Note: These are research protocols from literature. This is not medical advice.
Standard
100-200 mcg
2-3x daily
8-12 weeks
Expect increased hunger
Stacking Recommendations
Peptides that may be combined based on complementary mechanisms in research settings.
Research Areas
Key Research Findings
- 1Robust GH release comparable to GHRP-2
- 2Strong appetite stimulation (useful in wasting conditions)
- 3Cytoprotective effects on heart and stomach
- 4May increase cortisol and prolactin
Side Effects & Contraindications
Reported Side Effects
- Intense hunger
- Water retention
- Cortisol elevation
Contraindications
- Obesity (relative)
- Active malignancy
Safety Considerations
Strong appetite increase may be unwanted. Affects cortisol and prolactin more than ipamorelin.
Storage Requirements
Store lyophilized at -20C
